Sometimes it is better to feed ASFs…

…rather than have a ball python not eat. Case in point: my nearly 1,000 gram female WHITE DIAMOND/ Super Russo has never missed a meal, up until about 2 weeks ago. She refused her regular rat then, last week and then again yesterday. So today I decided to over her 2 African soft furs…she ate them both within a few minutes.

I have always been one to offer a variety of prey items to my ball pythons, particularly if they stop eating. I would rather them eat mice or ASFs, than miss any meals. I have noticed that there is a stigma about feeding both of those prey items for some reason. In my opinion, if the snake will eat it, then you should feed it whatever it wants.

This female will be fed ASFs until she is ready to switch back to rats and she will continue to grow, so there should be not problem with her being ready to breed this fall!!!
